Our History

In 1993, Brian Hester opened Hester Chiropractic Clinic in Harrisburg, Illinois. The clinic gained a solid reputation for listening to a patient’s needs and committing to provide the care each person required on a personal level. Until the summer of 2009, the clinic remained dedicated to the community, its patients and chiropractic care. But that, more or less, was just the beginning.

Integrated Health of Southern Illinois was born in 2009 through a realization that caring for your body requires more than just one approach. Under the direction and leadership of Dr. Brian Hester, the highly-regarded Hester Chiropractic Clinic expanded to include nutritional education and analysis, physical and occupational therapy, massage therapy as well as other primary care areas of emphasis. The result is now known as Integrated Health of Southern Illinois.

Our wonderful facility, which was completed in 2009, was designed with patients in mind. It serves as a center for complete health care education, diagnosis and treatment. Here, you will find compassionate, caring providers and staff members utilizing the latest in technology and treatment methods

At Integrated Health we’ve worked hard to put together a team of professionals and a facility that works together in a unique approach to healthcare. We like to call it the Service Circle of Care. As in a circle, everything is equal, overlapping and continuous. We cover every aspect of caring for you including chiropractic care, therapy and nutrition. At Integrated Health Services, we’re renowned for achieving superb results in even the most challenging circumstances. We believe this is because of our unique approach to total wellness. We promise to treat you uniquely and as a person, not as a number, a case or a collection of symptoms. Simply put, we’ll treat you the way you want to be treated. That means with compassion, understanding and skill, healing and educating in a team approach with the latest in technique. We can treat the “whole” person with a variety of services offered at our facilities such as:
  •  Chiropractic Care
    • Chiropractic is a whole-body approach to care. The art, science and philosophy of modern chiropractic emphasize the nervous system’s interaction with the rest of your body. We don’t focus on symptoms and pills, rather chiropractors take a holistic approach to wellness that utilizes therapeutic techniques and modifications to lifestyles that work to correct neuromusculoskeletal disorders and aid your body in healing itself.
  • Physical Therapy
    • Physical therapy is used primarily to treat physical ailments involving impaired mobility. Our main focus is to restore pain free functional movement by reducing tension in soft tissues, optimizing joint mobility, and utilizing a systematic and individualized corrective exercise program to maximize functional strength thus preventing future exacerbations. Our physical therapy department is unique to Southern Illinois in that we use an integrated approach that also offers one on one treatment sessions depending on your need.
  • Acupuncture
    • Acupuncture is recommended for a wide variety of conditions such as acid reflux, insomnia and fibromyalgia. Research in the US shows strong results in easing conditions such as osteoarthritis, fertility and chemotherapy-related nausea, among others. It is a common choice for patients recovering from accidents or injuries. Dozens of medical centers are adding acupuncture into programs to enhance surgical recovery, physical therapy and stroke rehabilitation outcomes.

We often discuss the many facets to total wellness here at Integrated Health, and in addition to our services listed above we offer:
  • Nutrition, Massage Therapy, and Family Medicine
