Cheif Ryan Freeburg | Glendale Fire Department
Ryan Freeburg, appointed as Glendale, AZ Fire Chief in September 2022, brings over 26 years of fire service experience to his role. As a seasoned firefighter and leader, he directs operational, administrative, and managerial staff within the Glendale Fire Department. Serving a population of over 250,000, the department handles a wide range of services, including fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, and technical rescue. Freeburg's career journey saw him rise through the ranks from field firefighter to Assistant Chief in the City of Scottsdale Fire Department before assuming his current position. He holds degrees in Organizational Management and Public Safety Administration and is actively involved in professional organizations such as the NFPA and IAFC. As a dedicated family man, Freeburg resides in Scottsdale with his wife and children.
Sheriff Russ Skinner | Maricopa County Sherrif's Office
Appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on February 8th, 2024, Sheriff Russ Skinner succeeded Sheriff Paul Penzone following his departure. With over three decades of experience at MCSO since May 1990, Sheriff Skinner has held various command and executive positions. A second-generation Maricopa County Sheriff’s Deputy, his early exposure to public safety ignited a lifelong career in law enforcement. Committed to community engagement, Sheriff Skinner prioritizes interaction with stakeholders, staff, and partner agencies. His extensive background encompasses roles as a D.A.R.E. Officer, detective, and investigative supervisor, with a focus on fostering relationships with law enforcement agencies and ensuring justice for victims. Sheriff Skinner holds certifications in various law enforcement fields and is actively involved in enhancing public safety preparedness and managing major events impacting the county. In his previous role, he led Patrol and Investigative Operations and Compliance, and now, as Sheriff, he is dedicated to providing progressive leadership in public safety and successful compliance efforts while expressing gratitude for the support of his family and MCSO staff.
