Looking for a great way to network with business owners and professionals? Join us on Thursday, February 21st at Nori Sushi Bar & Grill for our Connect 4 Lunch event hosted by the American Fork Chamber of Commerce. This event was created in response to a survey we sent out to chamber members from the American Fork, Pleasant Grove-Lindon, and Lehi Area Chambers and has become a popular way to network AND enjoy an amazing lunch at the same time!

Connect 4 Lunch will be held on the THIRD Thursday of every month. This event is free to attend - you just need to pay for your own lunch. Please remember to bring your business cards and, if you would like, a prize to give away during the lunch.

The next Connect 4 Lunch will be on March 21st.

Volunteers Needed

As one of your many included Chamber member benefits, the Welcome Bag Program allows you to distribute information about your business to new members of our community. Our Ambassadors will be assembling more of these bags next Wednesday, February 13, and we would love to include your business info, swag, or promotions.

We are trying to make it easy and worthwhile for your business to enjoy this ongoing marketing benefit. Here are the details:

What is the Welcome Bag?
It is a large, red, reusable shopping bag that is filled with items from Chamber member businesses (as well as informational handouts from the city) that we take to the city offices where they are distributed to new residents.

Who receives them?
These handy bags are given to new residents who move in to American Fork! That's about a bag a day going out to potential customers that live in close proximity to your business!

What is the cost?
This marketing opportunity is included with your Chamber membership. You are only responsible for the cost of whatever items you put in the bags.

How do I get my items to the Chamber?
We'll take care of that for you! Simply email us at chamber@afcity.net and we'll make arrangements for your items to be picked up at your location or dropped off at the Chamber office.

How many items will be needed?
That's totally up to you. If they are smaller items (like coupons, postcards or even small swag items), we can store about 6 months worth of the items we'll be putting in the bags. If they are larger items (like frisbees or clothing), we can store about 3 months worth, depending on size. Either way, we will pick up your items as often as needed so you never miss a potential new customer.

When will I need to have the items ready?
You can join in anytime!

Please feel free to email us at chamber@afcity.net or call 801-756-5110 if you have any other questions, and we hope the Welcome Bag Program brings many new customers your way!

Take the Clean the Air Challenge

The Clear the Air Challenge is a month-long competition that gives Utahns the chance to reduce their vehicle emissions by choosing alternative methods of transportation using TravelWise strategies. By driving less and driving smarter, participants will ultimately help improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion and conserve energy in Utah. During the winter months, a dense layer of cold air can be trapped under a layer of warm air, resulting in poor air quality called inversion, which is dangerous to people’s health and to Utah’s quality of life. Transportation emissions are responsible for nearly 50 percent of winter emissions. So by simply reducing vehicle trips, we can help protect our health, our environment and our quality of life.
