How to Use Your Golf Benefit

The weather is getting nicer and it's time to start thinking about getting out on the golf course. As a member of the American Fork Chamber of Commerce you have access to our Corporate Golf Pass at Fox Hollow in American Fork. EVERY member gets access to the driving range at no extra cost. (Call or send us an e-mail if you would like to know how to use this benefit.)
Additional golf benefits are available for each level of chamber membership:
  • Silver Member: 1 time, 9 holes with cart for 2 people
  • Gold Member: 6 times, 9 holes with cart for up to 4 people
  • Community Partner: Once a month, 18 holes with cart for up to 4 people
  • Trustee: Twice a month, 18 holes with cart for up to 4 people
To use your golf benefit, send a text to Josh or Kristina requesting a day and time you would like to golf. They will reserve a time for you as close to your request as possible and send you a confirmation. You must schedule your golf through either Josh or Kristina so that we can maintain a good relationship with Fox Hollow.

Looking for a great way to network with business owners and professionals? Join us on Thursday, March 21st for our Connect 4 Lunch event hosted by the Point of the Mountain Chamber. This event was created in response to a survey we sent out to chamber members from the American Fork, Pleasant Grove-Lindon, and Point of the Mountain Chambers and has become a popular way to network AND enjoy an amazing lunch at the same time!

Connect 4 Lunch will be held on the THIRD Thursday of every month. This event is free to attend - you just need to pay for your own lunch. Please remember to bring your business cards and, if you would like, a prize to give away during the lunch.

The next Connect 4 Lunch will be on April 18th.

STACC (STREET AND AIR CRITICAL CARE)

"The Street & Air Critical Care (StACC) course is a16 week online program designed to provide experienced paramedics and nurses an in-depth understanding of the concepts of critical care transport, training on advanced skills, and preparation to pass national critical care transport certification exams. StACC instructors include physicians, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, flight medics, and flight nurses. Lectures cover 24 different critical care subjects such as ventilator management, lab data interpretation, radiographic image analysis, 12 lead EKG interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, circulatory assist device management, advanced pharmacology, and more.The first section of class discusses each of the 24 topics in great depth. The last section includes a summarized review the of the course content, focusing specifically on material students will be tested on by national critical care certification exams. Students will also be trained on the performance of advanced skills such as thoracotomies, pericardiocentesis, cricothyrotomies, etc. The course director is Josh Forsyth. Josh has is an experienced paramedic and flight nurse. He has worked in the emergency and critical care field for over 16 years. He has also been an instructor at Utah Valley University for the past 10 years. Each module includes a lecture, reading assignment, and quiz. Class member's progress will be monitored closely by Josh to ensure each student's success. Class members will be provided with Josh's direct contact information. Students are encouraged to contact Josh directly throughout the course with any help they may require.StACC is approved by the International Board for Specialty Certifications (IBSC) for 60 CME units toward renewal of the FPC or CCPC. StACC CME units are also recognized by the State of Utah Bureau of EMS. Participants will be required to purchase a book which is not included the course fee ($90)."

UVU Web Development and Coding Academy in partnership with Bottega. This full stack introduction to computer science blends a traditional focus on algorithms and architecture with immersive experience building web applications, databases, and APIs utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, and React. Training also includes responsive web design, and finding employment in the tech industry including resume work, networking, and technical interviewing.

Tom Longenecker has over thirty years of experience as a business owner, leader, educator, administrator, and entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, Longenecker is highly experienced as an exceptional motivator of results and an effective business creator. He has successfully owned and managed operations in multiple states and environments.
 
Longenecker has experience in a variety of sectors including manufacturing, distribution, health technology, insurance, sports marketing, and higher education administration.
 
He has held several key positions as CEO, president, vice president, consultant, advisor, and university athletic director. He was invited by university presidential appointment to complete the task of developing a department mission and vision, increasing participation, generating new revenue, and expanding marketing exposure, accompanied with the specific need to build multiple facilities and sporting venues. As an experienced educator and coach, he understands the complexities of effective team building and uniting for a common effective goal.
 
Longenecker loves the challenge of uniting education and business together for the benefit of business owners’ successful growth opportunities. He currently holds a secondary teaching certificate in Utah with over 20 endorsed specialty areas.  In addition, Longenecker holds a BS Degree from Brigham Young University and completed his MBA in 2012 with an emphasis in strategic management and finance. He is currently in his 6th year of working for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program at SLCC.
