About Vida Mejor Capital
Vida Mejor Capital
Vida Mejor Capital, Inc. (VMC) is a New Mexico based 501(c)(3) non-profit and aspiring Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that operates solely in the healthy fresh food, water and renewable energy sectors. We were founded by a Hispanic, Service-Disabled Veteran from New Mexico with physical offices at the Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo in Espanola, New Mexico.
Currently, VMC is proud to be contracted by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (NM EDD) to assist in implementing and administering a new program called the Healthy Food Financing Fund (HFFF) for Fiscal Years 2023 and 2024. The HFFF program is a strategic initiative from Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and designed to advance objectives that increase access to nutritious, healthy fresh food for New Mexicans while also fostering job growth and retention within the food and agriculture sectors. Lastly, the NM EDD Healthy Food Financing Fund (HFFF) supports food and agricultural producers, as well as small rural businesses affected by COVID-19 and other economic, market, and cultural obstacles.
