It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the Hub City as the annual illuminated parade kicked off the Holiday Season in Alice.
Where did the time fly. I have had the honor and privilege to have led the Alice Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for two years. It has been a memorable term as board president.
Shopping during the holiday season can be fun and yet stressful without adding to it. We often do no think twice about our security when pushing a shopping cart. This past weekend I went to a couple of stores and took notice as to how people protect their belongings while shopping.

The holidays are the time of year when the spirit of giving touches us in a variety of ways. Among other things, we tend to step up our contributions to favored charities. Giving back to causes and organizations that have special meaning is probably the main reason for your philanthropic efforts. There’s also the added incentive of claiming a deduction on your next tax return, provided that gifts to qualified charities are made by December 31.
