This year’s selection of the 2014 Jr. Citizen of the Year posed quite a challenge for the selection committee and the Chamber Board of Directors.
Beginning with 16 candidates, the committee’s role to narrow the field to ten was their first obstacle. From the ten, five were selected to meet before the Board of Directors.
Some excited and surprised employers were honored at the 78th Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet.
Chamber Executive Director Juan A. Navejar Jr presented the Small Employer of the Year to Right of Way Services, Large Employer Excellence to Bowden Ford and the Employer of the Year to Community Action Corporation of South Texas.
What a great banquet! I hope everyone had a great time and enjoyed it. Thanks to everyone who attended, our table sponsors, silent auction donors and bidders. Our banquet serves as one of our biggest fundraisers for the year to help with the day-to-day operations of the Chamber. We have been truly blessed to have the support of our members. Congratulations to the Chamber staff for putting on a fantastic banquet. This year’s Chamber banquet topped them all. The decorations, food and speaker were great. Great job goes out to everyone who had a part in putting this event together.
