 The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors opted to re-elected its officers for 2016. As board president, I am leading the group with our newly elected vice presidents: Richard Joslin will oversee Economic Development and will sit on the EDC board of Directors; Albert Martinez will oversee the Convention Visitors Bureau; Ofelia is in charge of Membership; Ann Awalt will represent the Civic groups and Joslin will also serve as treasurer.

 As tax time approaches, Better Business Bureau serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin is warning taxpayers of an IRS phone scam that circulates during filing season. BBB regularly receives reports from people who allege they have received calls from scammers impersonating IRS agents.
