Smithwick new board president-elect


The Alice Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors have elected Mellie Smithwick as the 2019 Board President. She currently serves as the Vive President of CVB and has served in various Chamber Committees and a past Alice Ambassador.
Smithwick becomes the First Vice President of the Board of Directors and will assume the president role on January 1, 2019.

The Alice Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is proud to announce the selection of the 2019 Board President Mellie Smithwick.  Mellie was a unanimous selection by the board during our April meeting. She brings great leadership to the board and has high values in our community. Mellie currently serves as Vice President – CVB. She will assume the president office on January 1, 2019.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony


Cornerstone Baptist Church held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for its new community basketball court. The court was funded through various fundraisers, organizations and local contributions.

Crime Victims Awareness Walk


The 79th Judicial Court along with the City of Alice, Jim Wells County and law enforcement agencies held a Crime Victims Awareness Walk at the Jim Wells County Courthouse grounds. Guest speakers from agencies, the city and county also participated.
