Twenty-one teams make cash from lemons

The 2018 Hurricane Season is under way. We already had the first Tropical Storm of the year last week off the Florida Gulf coastline. Last year, we dodged a bullet but our neighbors just northeast of us in the Rockport area had the brunt of Hurricane Harvey.

Now is the time to start preparing your business in the event a storm comes our way this summer.

Prepare for Higher Inflation

Do you think everything is getting more expensive? It’s not your imagination – prices have generally been rising, and you’re likely to pay somewhat higher prices in the future, too. Overall inflation measures have been rising by about 2%, including the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which aggregates a broad basket of prices based on consumer spending. The good news is the expected inflation rate is also about 2%.

Ribbon Cutting


Jim Wells County held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for its new Annex building located on Old Kingsville Road. The new facility will house some of Pct 3 along with various other offices to include the Sheriffs Department adding presence to the southern part of the city and county.
