Our Mission:
At Andover Public Schools, we are committed to preparing learners for a changing world by providing meaningful educational opportunities that empower students to lead successful and fulfilling lives. With a strong focus on academic excellence and progress, we take pride in exceeding local, state, and national goals, ensuring our students are well-equipped to face the challenges of the future.
Our Schools:
With a total of 11 schools in our district, we offer a diverse and comprehensive educational experience. Among them are six elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, and one virtual school, providing a range of options to suit the needs of every student.
Andover Public Schools serves a vast area of 47 square miles, encompassing Butler and Sedgwick counties, including the City of Andover and the eastern portion of Wichita. With approximately 5,700 students enrolled in our physical schools and an additional 3,000 attending virtually through Andover eCademy, we take great pride in being a leading educational institution in the region.
Our commitment to academic excellence is evident in the achievements of our students and staff. We celebrate our National Merit Finalists and Semi-Finalists, consistently higher-than-state-average ACT scores, state championships in athletics and activities, and the numerous regional and national recognitions awarded to our programs and staff. Our dedicated staff and administration focus on providing the support and guidance needed for each student to thrive.
At Andover Public Schools, we maintain high expectations for both our students and staff. Our educators have received prestigious recognitions such as induction into the National Teachers Hall of Fame, Kansas Teacher of the Year, Kansas Teacher of the Year finalists and semi-finalists, Kansas Master Teacher, Kansas History Teacher of the Year, and many more. These accolades reflect our commitment to nurturing a dynamic learning environment that fosters growth and achievement.
We value partnerships that enhance the educational experience for our students. Our collaboration with Butler Community College allows high school students the opportunity to earn college credit hours, giving them a head start in their academic journey. Additionally, our participation in the Butler County Special Education Interlocal #638 and the South Central Kansas Education Service Center demonstrates our dedication to providing comprehensive support to all learners through Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
The Andover Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS) provides our high school juniors and seniors with a unique opportunity to explore their career interests through mentorships, internships, and real-world projects. This innovative program has helped many of our soon-to-be graduates chart their post-high-school path, saving them time, money, and frustration in their next steps after graduation.
With a rich tradition of excellence, Andover Public Schools has consistently delivered an exceptional educational experience for our students. As we continue to shape the leaders of tomorrow, we remain committed to our mission of preparing learners for a changing world.
