Summer 2020
On the Right Track

New Chamber Executive Director

Leslie Palacio

Hello! I'd like to introduce myself to you all. Some of you I have met and known for sometime now, and others I have not had the pleasure of meeting quite yet.
I am Leslie Palacio, and I have lived in Baird for the past 13 years. My husband is Daniel Palacio, who has lived here for over half his lifetime. He is the Preacher at the Baird Church of God. Together we have two children, Bryce, who has been a Baird Bear his entire school career, is entering his 6th grade year this coming school year. Maverick, will be a Baird Bear for the first time when he enters Pre K.
I am very excited to be working for the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Baird, as the Community Coordinator. Previously, I worked for First Bank Texas in Clyde for almost 6 years. My involvement in working with businesses is not new, it's just a new area that I have not worked in before. Due to COVID-19 and learning the technical side of the job, it has been a little difficult getting out and going to our different businesses. You are on my list and have not been forgotten.
Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or even thoughts. I am open to all of them, and will do my best to make the residents of Baird proud of where they live. You can reach me by phone or email at 325.854.3062 or Leslie.cityofbaird@gmail.com.

July 4th Celebration

Leslie Palacio

It was a great time to be able to get out and enjoy some fresh air, despite a COVID-19 pandemic. It was good to see family and friends being able to enjoy each other’s company in midst of music and fireworks.
We want to thank all those who have made this event successful. We would not have been able to do this without the help of the Community Development Corporation for the purchase of the fireworks. Kevin Davis and Scott Davis for putting on yet another fabulous fireworks show. For the Baird Chamber of Commerce for the downtown celebration and street dance. Donations from T & B Mechanical, First Bank Texas, and The Painted Donkey for the bands. We want to thank Jumps & Tents for Events for providing the Slip -N- Slide. Gravity’s Edge for bringing out their mobile Rock-climbing Tower. Southern Gourmet Funnel Cake Co. for providing foods and sweet treats. Finally, we want to thank the bands, Jordan Tyler Haynes and the Kitchen Choir & Garrett Bryan and the Traveling City Committee, who were able to come out and provide us with some great music. Bison Valley Productions, without whom we would not have the lights and sound.

New Members

We want to thank Patty Ellis with Clyde Super Clean Car Wash and Melissa and Will Stallings of Vintage Vibe West Clyde for their membership to the Baird Chamber. They are businesses in Clyde that would appreciate your business, if you haven't already been to these wonderful establishments. Patty is seen a lot at her car wash doing what she can to provide the best care she can for her customers. Melissa's business is new, and she has some wonderful home decor, jewelry, shirts, and women's caps. She even has some older furniture she has refinished herself. These women take great pride in their jobs and it shows.
Make sure to go like their Facebook pages for updates and sales, as well as all of our other business member's pages.

Depot Museum

The T & P Depot Museum is open from Monday through Saturday from 10am until 2pm. We could not do this without our wonderful volunteers who take time from their day to do so. A huge Thank You goes to Roger Williams, JoAnn Allen, Keith Jones, Lee Abernathy, and Debbie McElmurray.

Hunter's Supper Sponsors

With Hunter's Supper quickly approaching, we are in need of Sponsors and Volunteers. If you know of someone who would like to sponsor this event, please let me know.
