Baker County Council on Aging (BCCOA) advocates for dignity, independence, health, and community involvement of elderly and disabled Baker County residents. The agency acts as the provider and coordinator of in-home and community based services for those individuals 60 years of age and older in Baker County.

The long standing history of the (BCCOA) for dependable quality service has led to excellent agency resource coordination in our area. BCCOA has a strong local support network and works closely with the local government, fire department, sheriff's department, and the emergency operations center to identify and register citizens for the county's special needs registry.

BCCOA is the community transportation center coordinator for Baker County, a designation the agency has held since 1982. It is essential for the Council on Aging to act well with other agencies within and outside of the immediate community to effectively accomplish the agency's mission.

Major annual events supported by the community include the County Sheriff's Department Annual Fish Fry for all county seniors. The annual Information "Extravaganza" that involves many local organizations and agencies, BCCOA funding sources and vendors. The "Real Senior Prom" gala event, and the Christmas drive that traditionally brings in enough donations from the community to provide a Christmas gift for every client.
