We have been recognized by state and national newspaper associations, as well as other organizations that support the ideals of journalism, including the University of Florida, which honored us with its Claudia Ross Memorial Award for investigative journalism, and the First Amendment Foundation, which chose The Press as the first newspaper to be named Friend of the First Amendment, joining previous winners such as Gov.
