30th Annual Banquet

The Chamber's 30th Annual Banquet was held Tuesday, September 28th at First Baptist Church Macclenny Family Life Center with more than 250 persons attending. Rod Smith, former State's Attorney and current candidate for Lt. Governor spoke about his past experiences as our state's attorney, as well as the future of Baker County and Florida as the running mate with Governor candidate Alex Sink.

Businesses that have been members for our entire 30 years were recognized, as were some guest who were part of the founding members.

Once again Hatcher Catering did an excellent job of preparing and serving the meal.

The Business Appreciation Awards this year went to Sam's Crystal River Seafood Restaurant and Country Federal Credit Union for their contribution to our community through job creation and capital investment.  The community service award went to Helene Guest for her volunteer work with the Baker County Farmer's Market and the Community Garden.

Grand Slam Ribbon Cutting

Wednesday, October 14 the Grand Slam Barber Shop held a ribbon cutting to official open the new barber shop. There was quite a number of Chamber board members and members present for the event.  Traditional baseball food was available to eat - hot dogs, popcorn, cracker jacks, etc. Shelly has done an amazing job decorating.  Stop by and make her feel welcome to the business community.

Third Quarter Business Social

The 3rd quarter business social was held at NEFCOM on Tuesday, September 21. General Manager, Mike Griffis and all the employees of NEFCOM did a great job of hosting other Chamber Members. NEFCOM also provided several great items for door prizes. Approximately 40 people attended the social.

Joanna Kumm, with Office Depot, was also on hand to answer questions about the Office Depot discount program for Chamber members. She also provided items for door prizes.
