Lunch and Learn

Government Benefits - Helping you Understand Social Security and Medicare was the title of the Lunch and Learn held Tuesday, April 17 at the Chamber office.  First Federal Bank of Florida was the sponsor of the event and provided lunch for the 26 or so people that attended.  Clarence Brown, with Raymond James Financial, did a great job of providing information on social security to the group.

22nd Annual Golf Tournament

The 22nd Annual Golf Tournament was a success!  Although we did not have as many players as we have had in the past, we still consider the tournament to be a success.  We had 14 corporate sponsors and 18 hole sponsor, a drink sponsor and a sponsor that furnished our desserts, as well as 80 players.

We had twice the volunteers this year as the past, and we had a great time.  The food was fantastic, as usual.  Darryl always does an awesome job cooking the Boston butts for this event.

John Luthi won longest putt - 22'4"; closest to the hole was Mark Resler and longest drive was won by Mason Sweat.  First place team was a corporate team from Century Ambulance - James Allen, Joel Allen, Stan McQuiston and Charlie Allen. Second place team was Zach Paulk, Ron James, Bill Radder and Canty Garets from Walmart DC #7835 in Alachua.

The rafffles prizes were won by Billy Miller (recliner), Brian Shead (Jaguars tickets) and Mark Resler (putter).  Congratulations to these winners.

Thanks to everyone who supports our annual golf tournament.

Glitz Glam & Goodies

Our 2nd annual Glitz Glam & Goodies was Saturday, May 5 at the Ag Center.  We had 21 booths/vendors, including the Baker County Health Department, Lia Sophia, Pampered Chef, Huckleberry Moon, Scentimental Gifts, Nina's/Merle Norman, Jacksonville Jaguars, FBC Macclenny Youth, Lucas Travel Agency, Moonlight Blessings, Episcopal Children's Services, Premier Jewelry, It Works, Pink Zebra Home, 87 Sparrow, Mary Kay, Woman's Club, Solutions for Today and Baker Women's Political Network, and our sponsors First Federal Bank of Florida, Gibson McDonald Furniture and Walmart DC #6099.

The Kinder Choir from the Pre-K/Kindergarten Center entertained the crowd with a couple of songs and we were dazzled with a fashion show sponsored by Classy Crossroads. We had 13 models ranging in age fron 6-60 and Classy Crossroads assisted them with outfits that looked great on each of them.  The GATOR boots are the best!

We would like to thank all of our vendors, volunteers, Amanda McCook, the Kinder Choir and the parents, Dana, Corie and staff at Classy Crossroads and all of our beautiful models, and our sponsors for taking time out of their day to participate in the Glitz Glam & Goodies
