20th Annual Golf Tournament

The 20th annual golf tournament will be held Friday, April 30 at Quail Heights Country Club. The corporate sponsorships are $350 and include two player. The hole sponsorship is $125. Players are $50 each. Coffee, fruit and muffins available that morning; water and gatorade provided at various tees. Celebrating 30 Years

The first quarter business social was held Thursday, March 4 at the Chamber office and was attended by about 50 people. Mr. Register introduced those in attendance that were charter members of the Chamber and those that have been members for the entire 30 years. The drawing was won by Doug Scott with North Florida Antique Power Association. We will be celebrating the Chamber's 30 anniversary throughout the year. If you know addresses of any charter members of the Chamber that do not live in Baker County, please let us know.

Bennett's Feed, Farm & Pet Center Grand Re-Opening and Appreciation Day

Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Bennett's Feed is having a grand re-opening appreciation day of their store that they lost to a fire last year. Join the fun:

Member Profile - First Coast Women's Services

Our member profile this month is the First Coast Women's Services.  The center in Macclenny opened December 2007, after one year of fundraising and gaining community support. FCWS' mission and vision is to empower women to make informed choices about their pregnancies. FCWS' purpose is to prevent the tragedy of abortion by offering truthful information, emotional support and practical assistance to individuals who are facing unplanned pregnancies. They present sexual abstinence as a positive lifestyle for singles and provide opportunity for healing and restoration to those who have been hurt by abortion. They share the love of Jesus in a caring non-judgmental environment. Services are free and confidential. The center director is Lori Dugan. Lori has lived in Macclenny for seven years and before accepting this position, served as a volunteer at the Mandarin center. The FCWS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported entirely through donations. Visit their website at www.fcws.org or call 259-2585 for additional information.

Sanderson Branch CFCU Opening

The ribbon cutting for the new Sanderson branch of the Country Federal Credit Union was held Tuesday, March 30th and was attended by CFCU board members Chamber members, CFCU employees and retirees. The official opening of the branch was held on Wednesday.

Meet Your Directors

Our board member this month is Dana Wood. Dana is currently the Market Manager at First Federal Bank of Florida. As a Market Manager, Dana is responsible for offering financial products and services to customers, including consumer and commercial loans and deposit accounts. Dana graduated from Baker County High School in 1989. She has been in the banking industry for 11 years, beginning at CNB/Mercantile Bank and now with First Federal Bank. Dana comes to First Federal with experience in personal and commercial accounts, customer service, commercial loans, small business development, and branch management.

Dana lives in Macclenny with her husband, Allen, and son Garrett who is 16years old. In her spare time, Dana is involved in women’s ministry at Taylor Church along with the GWFC Women’s Club of Macclenny. She enjoys shopping, camping and spending time with her family and friends. Dana says she is happy to work for a community bank that desires to provide exceptional customer service through various products and local decision making.
