Duval Gun Jewelry and Pawn recently moved their business from Glen St. Mary to 390 West Macclenny Avenue across the street from Sports Shak and beside Macclenny Veterinary Clinic. They held a Grand Opening Friday, May 29 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. Take time to visit and welcome them to their new location!

Relay for Life

The ACS Relay for Life will be held Saturday, June 12 beginning at noon until 6:00 am June 13 at Memorial Park. There will be food & drinks, fun & games, music & dancing. Show your support for the fight against cancer.

YMCA Open House

The Baker County Family YMCA held an open house Tuesday, April 27th to show off their renovations and new machines. They have taken out walls, painted, added new machines, moved the child watch area, etc. They moved the treadmills up front to the window and you can look outside while you walk and/or you can now watch the TV screen on the treadmill you're on. There are great activities and programs for the children at the YMCA - swimming lessons, swim team, summer camp activites, soccer and basketball. With the addition of some extra space, the staff is also planning some activities for pre-teens and teenagers. If you don't have your children involved in the Y's summer activites, hurry and sign them up for the summer.

2nd Quarter Business Social

Reflections Photography and Prudential Financial hosted our 2nd quarter business social Thursday, May 6 at Reflections. Karen and Anne invited Bob Gerard and Kelly Norman to bring a few of their drama students to perform. We enjoyed seeing and hearing Snow White (Sarah Davis) perform a couple of songs from the movie Snow White, as well as a couple of additional soloist, Ana Tomas and Ashley Bryant. Sarah also joined Dylan Gerard in a Johnny Cash/June Carter duet!  The social was well attended by Chamber members, as well as some guests from the downtown area.

2010 Maps

As most of you know, we are in the process of getting our part of the maps done so Mr. Hawthorne can then take over and get his part done. New roads, pictures, printing and such. The ads sold very quickly this year.  As soon as we sent out the e-mail with attached letter and sizes, the calls started coming in.  Then, when the time came for us to start calling the ones that had not responded to the e-mail, the ads just begin to disappear.  So, if you didn't get your spot or didn't get an ad at all, we apologize, but its kinda of a first come, first serve situation.   It is exciting how quickly everything has come together for this project.

At this time, we still have 1 large corner ad ($500) or two basic size ads ($225)  and a 1/2 of a basic size ($135). Call us soon if you are interested in one of the ads.
