Taking Care of Business

FROM THE PRESIDENT:

JENNIFER HALL, SEMCO Construction

RUDOLPH ROUNDUP!

Leadership Bartow XVII invites YOU to help make incredible holiday memories for 1,400 local children. You can do this by joining Heartland for Children in the 12th Annual Rudolph Round-up Holiday Toy Drive!

New, unwrapped, TAGS ON, toys are being accepted at the Chamber office THIS WEEK! It is so easy to help a child in need this Christmas season. Heartland for Children tells us that gifts for Infants and Teens ages 13-17 are encouraged, as historically these age groups need additional support.

Here’s a list of ideas you can bring to help make a child’s holiday season brighter:
INFANTS (Birth to 12 months) Baby Einstein books, videos & games • Bath Toys • Blankets • Bouncers/Jumpers • Leap Frog Learning Toys • Large Soft Blocks/Toys/Books • Light Up Toys • Stand-Up Activity Centers • Rattles

BOYS (13 - 17) Sports Jerseys • Wallets • Watches • Accessories (Hats, belts, etc.) • Messenger Bags • Graphic Tees • Card & Board Games

GIRLS (13 - 17) Bath & Body Sets • Curling Irons • Fur Pillows/Lights • Jewelry • Accessories • Slippers • Hair Straighteners • Blow Dryers • Purses/Wallets • Makeup • Card & Board Games

Want to know more? Contact Andrea Hagan at 863-519-8900 ext 214 or rudolph@heartlandforchildren.org. Thanks in advance!

Until next week,
Jennifer Hall

BRING YOUR BOOST OR ENSURE PRODUCTS INTO THE CHAMBER NOW
BOOST BARTOW / ENSURE HEALTH EVENT
OPEN LETTER TO MEMBERS:

Dear Bartow Community Member,
Bartow Kiwanis Club has teamed up with VISTE (Volunteers in Service to the Elderly) to collect Boost and Ensure nutritional drinks. Our endeavor is slated as “A Boost for Bartow, to Ensure Health!” These drinks provide essential nutrients for the elderly, and is an item sometimes difficult for the VISTE clients to obtain.
VISTE currently serves almost 250 residents in the Bartow community by providing a variety of services including supplemental grocery delivery, hot meals, transportation to medical appointments, bathing, and minor home repairs. The mission of VISTE is to enable the frail and elderly to remain safely and independently in their own homes.
Bartow Kiwanis Club, a well-established charity, is hosting a collection drive from December 2, 2016 to December 16, 2016. We are asking community businesses, churches, and schools throughout Bartow to participate during this timeframe. Within your entity, please ask individuals (employees, members, teachers, & students) to donate just one six-pack of either Boost or Ensure, and bring it to work. It will in turn be collected by the Kiwanis Club and delivered to VISTE by December 16th. Each contribution of approximately $9 in value, will provide a priceless Merry Christmas for the support of our elderly. Our goal is to collect 1,000 packs!
We hope that you will consider assisting in this effort to help Bartow’s elderly residents. In the spirit of the season, your participation will not only provide physical nourishment for those in need, but will also nourish the joy of giving. We will be touching base with you soon to provide drop off locations and collection sites.
The Bartow Kiwanis Club thanks you for consideration of this worthwhile cause, and hopes you will be able to help. Please contact Frank Johnson at (863) 899-9220 with any questions. To learn more about VISTE, visit
