As a member, you and your employees are eligible to participate in a professional development series: LEADERSHIP IN THE WORKPLACE. Successful professionals continually strive to learn. Expanding skill sets and knowledge enables individuals to transcend their careers. The Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Polk State College, announces the launch of the 2018 Greater Bartow Chamber Professional Development Academy (PDA). This program provides skills for business, organization, and personal growth and improvement through a variety of educational and training opportunities. Receive your PDA certificate by attending a minimum of four of the seven classes. Cost for the academy classes are covered in your Chamber membership investment. If you are an employee of a Chamber member business, you are entitled to attend any of the classes at no cost. If you are not employed by a Chamber member business, the classes are $29 per class.

Watson Clinic is pleased to open its newest office in Bartow devoted to women’s health and gynecologic care.
It is located adjacent to our existing Bartow location, and is headed by board-certified obstetric-gynecologist Dr. Tarek Garas and Nicole Rule, ARNP-C. Mrs. Rule maintains a full-time schedule at this location including some select Saturdays, while Dr. Garas is available on select days each week as he divides his time between this location and the Bella Vista Building.
The range of services offered at Watson Clinic Bartow Gynecology are tailored for women of all ages, including routine gynecologic examinations, contraceptive management and treatments for irregular bleeding, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, painful bladder syndrome, and issues brought on by conditions like osteoporosis and menopause.
Procedures will be conducted both in-office and at Bartow Regional Medical Center.

Madrid Engineering Group, Owner Recognized
As International Leaders in Soil Stabilization
Larry Madrid, PE, president of Madrid Engineering Group, Inc. in Bartow, has increasingly been involved as a speaker at engineering and technology events. In February, 2018, he was invited to the University of Panama to speak on Chemical Stabilization of Soils and Road Base. The event was for students, roadway contractors, and civil engineers throughout the country of Panama. In 2017 Madrid Engineering was named the Technical Advisor for the United States for a road stabilization technology called CONSOLID that increases strength and decreases capillarity and other means of water infiltration into road base; thereby greatly reducing pothole formation. With their extensive knowledge of soil stabilization, Madrid said, along with their certified laboratory to test soil and aggregate, the company was selected for this position and it is now providing opportunities for international leadership in pavement and soil stabilization.
