20 ARTISTS WILL BE AT CHALK WALK!

Florence, Italy Street Painter – photo by Trish Pfeiffer

Award winning Main Street Bartow, Inc., is excited to announce an artsy new event for downtown Bartow.

“Chalk Walk” in the Park, presented by Frost Van den Boom, PA, is Polk County’s first professional chalk art event; and it's taking place right here in Polk County's Capital City, Bartow.

Additional sponsors, Patel, Greene & Associates, PLLC, The Ledger Media Group and Hall Communications have helped set the stage for the new arts event happening at the main crossroads in central Bartow - at Ft. Blount Park, 100 W. Main Street, on October 6th and 7th, 2018, Saturday and Sunday 10 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

As far back as mankind's history, there have been paintings on cave walls and even floors of caves.

But the fascinating art form of using impermanent materials and semi-permanent materials such as chalk, supposedly were made popular by Italian artists from the 16th Century, historically first rendering “Madonna” as the first pavement performance art.

A new generation of street painters sprang up, and they traveled from city to city, and festival to festival, creating chalk artwork that would last no longer than the handful of days required to create them.

Today, 20 professional performance chalk artists scheduled for Bartow’s Chalk Walk, (and some who are coming from as far away as Georgia, Virginia, Indiana and Mexico), will be  extended hometown hospitality as they make use of Bartow's sidewalks as canvases.

"Our sidewalks at Fort Blount will come alive with color, energy and vibrancy with this unique art form that is becoming very popular for artists, and art lovers alike," said Trish Pfeiffer, one of the organizers for the two-day event. Ms. Pfeiffer has worked with Main Street Bartow, Inc. to bring the Chalk Walk to downtown Bartow.

Swan Brewing of Lakeland will be contributing to the “Beer Garden” to refresh the crowds with their popular craft brews. “Great beer deserves an enjoyable atmosphere,” Ms. Pfeiffer said. “We look forward to Swan Brewing enhancing our creative atmosphere here at the Bartow Chalk Walk.”

LEADERCAST WOMEN COMING UP!

Did you know that currently, women hold less than 4-percent of CEO positions worldwide?

Studies show this leaves organizations at a disadvantage, as businesses are more effective when both men & women have an equal leadership voice.

And while the core values & behaviors of great leaders are certainly not gender-specific, it’s a fact that women often face unique life decisions and organizational challenges.

We invite women and men both to join us at the Leadercast Women Central Florida host site to be inspired and transformed by the exceptional women sharing their insights, experience and perspectives on how to be the best leader you can be.
