About Us
Sixteen acres of undeveloped land in Boulder City has been set aside specifically for the Boulder City Dog Center. From this prime location near the intersection of Yucca and Industrial, dog-loving visitors will enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, natural areas, and the dramatic Eldorado Valley.
Upon completion, the Dog Center will provide the perfect venue for many dog-related events and activities, and will meet the requirements set forth by the American Kennel Club for dog shows. The Dog Center will feature an area for classes and agility exercises, a clubhouse with meeting room, restrooms and storage, and amenities such as shade trees, park benches and drinking fountains.
Adjacent to the Dog Center, the City of Boulder City will be erecting a new, state-of-the-art Animal Control Shelter. The resulting informal partnership will provide many benefits for both the Dog Center and for the Animal Control Shelter. Since the Dog Center will be attracting a large number of animal lovers every day, it is anticipated that visits to the Shelter - and adoptions - will increase. Increased volunteerism will help meet the needs of the shelter. And Dog Center patrons will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that law enforcement / animal behavior experts are close at hand.
The most important feature of the Boulder City Dog Center is the recreation and social opportunities it will bring to the people of Boulder City. The love people share for their dogs builds bridges between people of all ages and all walks of life. Comfortable shaded areas and park benches throughout the complex will provide ideal settings for people to visit while their dogs play together. When people come together in such a positive way, communities are improved. The Boulder City Dog Center will bring people together and strengthen Boulder City.
