About Us

ISR Boulder City

Founded in 1966, Infant Swimming Resource (ISR), with its Self-Rescue program, is nationally recognized as the safest provider of survival swimming lessons for infants and young children. With over 45 years of research and development, highly trained certified Instructors committed to safety, and a proven history of success, parents can rest assured that their children are receiving the best possible instruction in the world today.

ISR’s mission:

“Not One More Child Drowns,” is the foundation of everything we do and is the driving force behind ISR’s employees, our independent ISR Instructors, and our major corporate partnerships. We believe the successful prevention of the leading cause of accidental death for children under the age of 4 in the U.S. will require a large group of caring and capable professionals whose sole focus is to save lives. To date, we have delivered more than 8,000,000 ISR Self-Rescue lessons and saved more than 1,000 lives.

ISR Lessons are one on one and customized to the developmental level of each child. Babies who sit up unassisted and can crawl- 6 months old-12 months learn to hold their breath underwater, roll onto their backs to float, rest and breath.  Children who can walk, generally one year of age and older (up to to 6 years old) learn to hold their breath underwater, swim with their head down and eyes open, roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, rollback over to resume swimming  they reach the side of the pool and can crawl out.

Lessons are 5 days a week, Monday-Friday for 10 minutes each day, for 6-7 weeks, depending on age an development stage.

ISR Self-Rescue skills can and do save lives. However, the number one defense against drowning of young children is effective supervision. Your child is not the only one who learns during lessons. Part of ISR's comprehensive program involves education about specific ways you can protect your children from water hazards. ISR survival swimming techniques are an integral part of your family's drowning prevention program.
