It's here again!!! BC will turn Pink on October 29th. Ribbons will don the light poles and store windows will brighten with pink displays. Everyone will have the chance to participate this year.
We will kick off the event by delivering pink boxed lunches to any businesses that would like to purchase them for their employees. We know that having the picture at noon is not always convenient for all employees, so this way, they can be a part of the event, even if they can not attend. Lunches are $10 each and $2 of every box goes to Susan G. Komen. An order form for those lunches is at the link below. http://www.chamberorganizer.com/bouldercity/docs/box%20lunch%20order%20form%202010%20%20pdf.pdf The annual picture will again be on City Hall steps at noon and this year we will have several guest speakers. We encourage everyone to purchase their tee shirt for $10 prior to the event at the Chamber office. If you'd like to purchase a bulk order for your employees, please let us know so we will be prepared for you. $5 of every shirt goes to Susan G. Komen. We have a new logo design this year and I think you will all love it. We also have a limited number of pink hats for sale. If you'd like to be a tee shirt sponsor for $50, please complete the form at the link below. The deadline on that is this Friday. http://www.chamberorganizer.com/bouldercity/docs/tee%20shirt%20sponsor%202010%20%20pdf.pdf We will announce the winner of the "best dressed" pink window at City Hall, so please let us know if you'll be participating in the "best dressed" contest. Immediately following the speakers, pink boxed lunches will be available for sale to those attending the annual picture at City Hall. Then...a new addition to the Passionately Pink event! We will be creating a "Human Pink Ribbon"! You won't want to miss this and I'm really excited to say that we will be the first to perform this feat. So please plan to stay and help us make history with your pink shirts and hats. We will have a bucket truck go up in the air to take our picture that will be submitted to Susan G. Komen to display on their website and in our local papers. This should be fun, so please bring a friend and come be a "Human Pink Ribbon"!! But wait, there's more!! A Pink Motorcycle and Bicycle Scavenger Hunt. At 4pm, Bikers will register at the Boulder Dam Brewing Company for the first annual Pink Bikers Run. At 6pm, pink prizes will be awarded to lucky winners. We are looking for 10 businesses in the Historic District and 10 businesses along the Nevada Highway business corridor to participate. All you need to do is be open from 4pm-6pm to allow the Bikers to come to you to collect their Pink Prize. The Chamber will supply those gifts to you for distribution. Please let us know if you'd like to be included. If there are any pink specials you'll be running, please let us know at the Chamber so we can properly advertise those for you. Also, if you'd like to volunteer to assist the event, please contact Val at 379-1459, Cindy at 277-4812, or Jill at 293-2034. A flyer for the event is attached. Please print it out and display it proudly as we all work together to turn BOULDER CITY PASSIONATELY PINK FOR THE CURE!! http://www.chamberorganizer.com/bouldercity/docs/BC%20Goes%20Passionately%20Pink%202010%20flyer%20%20pdf.pdf

I am writing on behalf of the Boulder City Museum and Historical Association (“BCMHA”) in
connection with its 2010 “Give Five to Keep the Museum Alive” campaign. As an integral part
of Boulder City’s historic business district, please consider pledging your organization’s support
to the Museum by donating to the “Five Alive” campaign. Your donation is eligible for taxdeductible
status since BCMHA is a qualified non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Please make checks payable to BCMHA (Tax ID No. 88-0167875).
The Museum’s campaign has a twofold purpose: (i) to remind and re-educate citizens, civic
organizations, and businesses about the importance of preserving our heritage; and (ii) to give
each of us an opportunity to share in the preservation process by pledging our support to the
Museum. In the coming weeks, you will undoubtedly see the banners, flyers, ads, donation jars,
and t-shirts advertising our campaign.
As you may be aware, the Museum is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Hoover Dam,
Lake Mead, and Boulder City. To that end, we maintain and make available an extensive
collection of photographs, manuscripts, artifacts, and other archived materials designed to bridge
the past with the present. The Museum serves as an important reminder not only of these
modern marvels but also of the dedicated pioneers who built them, their values, struggles,
triumphs, vision, work ethic, determination, and enduring legacy. Through exhibits, research
facilities, educational outreach programs, Third Thursday presentations, and co-sponsorship of a
wide variety of civic and cultural events, the Museum strives to share these stories with the
public in meaningful ways. You may already be familiar with some of our sponsored events,
including Boulder City’s annual 31ers Reunion, Chautauqua, and the Dam Short Film Festival.
