Business of the Quarter Nominations
The Chamber is always looking for businesses in town that go above and beyond for their customers and/or community. Feel free to print off the Business of the Quarter nomination form here and have it available in your business so your customers can give you a shout out! We are looking for nominations for 1st Quarter, July-Sept and must be submitted to the Chamber office or email by September 15. You can also nominate a fellow business that you think has done a brilliant job serving customers. All winners of Business of the Quarter will be in the running for the annual award Business of the Year at the Chamber's Installation Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
Chamber Member Spotlight: Hoover Dam Lodge
The Hoover Dam Lodge, formerly the Hacienda Hotel and Casino in Boulder City, NV, has been completely remodeled into a lodge. The interior boasts 30-foot ceilings haloed by massive wooden beams. A warm and welcoming towering stone fireplace immediately catches the attention of arriving guests, as does the rustic front check-in desk and reception area. Joe Graziano who was promoted in April to General Manager has been with the management team since 2010. Graziano previously worked for Dotty’s, a chain of popular tavern-casinos, which is owned by the parent company of the Hoover Dam Lodge, Nevada Restaurant Services, Inc.
Graziano recently sat down with the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce for a Q&A
How long were you at Dotty’s? I’ve been with the company approximately five years. I’ve worked in stores serving our guests both in front of house as well as in a management role. I was also our Slot Route manager for gaming locations located inside Kmart, Food4Less and Smith’s.
What other positions have you held at the company? Most recently I was Director of Gaming at Hoover Dam Lodge and our sister property Laughlin River Lodge before becoming the GM at Hoover Dam Lodge.
What are your duties as GM? I oversee day-to-day operations as well as continuing the development of the property as a recreational focal point for the area and park amenities. We also plan on continuing our efforts to establish ourselves as an active part of the community by building partnerships that encourage growth and strengthen our local economy.
What is your favorite part of the Hoover Dam Lodge? The scenic views and natural wildlife surrounding the property make a really special setting. The big horn sheep come down every day to graze and views over the lake are phenomenal. Still, the best part of working here is shooting the breeze for a few minutes with guests and team members.
