Happy New Year!

Monica Preston, Communications Director

Welcome to 2018! It feels like we just ushered in 2017, doesn't it? We at the Chamber hope that you and your businesses have enjoyed success and have flourished over the past year! We have so much going on moving into 2018 and are excited for what this year brings. One of the things we promised at Installation,  was to be as transparent as much as possible with activities we engage in that meet our mission. We have several ways we do this; via our Facebook public page, our Facebook Group for Members Only, Instagram, Twitter, mixers, Ribbon Cuttings, and our Newsletter that reaches you monthly. If you haven't already, please join our Facebook group page here. We have set this group up as a way to keep you all informed in between our monthly newsletter publishes. Often times, we have information that needs to get to you quickly in a short amount of time or it may have missed the newsletter cutoff. We do encourage you to submit specials, local deals or anything else you have going on at your business so we can help get the word out for you! THIS is one of the best things about being a chamber member is leveraging the vast network we have to market your brands both here and beyond Boulder City. Please send your info to Monica to get your specials published either on Social Media or in the Newsletter.

Southern Nevada Health District

Inaugural Boulder City Food Safety Partnership Meeting

Brenda Welch, a Senior Environmental Health Specialist has reached out to us to help facilitate a Boulder City Food Safety Partnership meeting. This is the first of its kind for us and an amazing opportunity to get questions answered by the Southern Nevada Health District. Brenda has attended several of our Wine Walks, complete several inspections at events here in Boulder City and her expertise and professionalism is top notch. She is a wealth of information and loves to come visit us out here! This will be a question and answer type of session and will cover topics such as pest control, temporary food events, as well as providing some topics for future meetings. This meeting is highly recommended for all restaurants as well as any of our Wine Walk merchants. Since the Wine Walk falls under temporary events, given the amount of merchants that participate, this will be a good time to learn more about the SNHD without being under pressure. We hope you can join us 1/24 from 9:30-3:30 at the Smith Building.
