Why Google is the Most Important Search Engine for Businesses

Answer: The second page of Google. (Corny, right? But there's a bit of truth to this!) Keep reading.....

Did you know that first page placement on Google generates 91.5% of website traffic? If your business isn't showing up on Google page one, you may not have a website that is search engine optimized. Here are some interesting statistics:
  • 75% of people will never scroll past page one of Google. Think of your own internet browsing behavior. How often do you move past page 1? Page 2? Chances are you don't even move past 3-4 because you've already changed your search if you haven't found what you're looking for.
  • 93% of online experiences are started from a search. Yep. They aren't even going to Facebook yet.
  • There are over 1 trillion searches every month. Every. Month. Let that sink in. That's a lot of traffic that your business may be losing out on.
  • 58% of consumers find local businesses using voice search on their device. And this number is only expected to go up.
So what do all of these fancy numbers mean? They represent some good news and some bad news. The bad news is it is VERY challenging to make it on page one of Google for small businesses because of a number of factors, but the first one is cost. Most companies pay Google for ad space to position them on page one. The second factor is based several technological factors like domain name, if you have a blog, how your website is built and much more. And keep in mind there are many other businesses trying to rank for the exact same key words you're trying to rank for. The GOOD news is that you can still rank high on Google, with a little help.

A good SEO presence has the ability to drive inbound traffic to your business for years. Most small businesses find success ranking on page one or at the least two, by utilizing domain authorities (those that you can buy your domain from and have a bigger presence you can capitalize from).
