With the increased concern of COVID-19, the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to making sure our businesses are prepared for the economic impact of the widespread virus. Our goal is to enhance preparedness as well as provide resources and encourage our community to do the same.
The overall risk to the average American is thought to be low, however there are everyday activities that can benefit all of us; not just in the event of a virus breakout, but all the time. The CDC and the Southern Nevada Health District advise practicing good and thorough hand washing (at least 20 seconds), sanitize commonly used surfaces regularly, and limit the exposure of sick employees in the work place.
The business community should also understand the social perception of the response to the virus as well. This calls for more proactive measures on behalf of the business owners to review their sick leave policy and share them with employees, sanitizing common spaces daily if not more often, and consider how to mitigate any impact to the day to day operations.
We highly recommend business owners and the general public follow the
CDC as well as the
Southern Nevada Health District for local updates.
TIP: Sing a catchy tune while washing your hands. One that has a verse you know by heart that last at least 20 seconds.
