Hello,
My name is Christy Springgate-Hill and I am the 2012-2013 chairman of the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce. My theme this year is “Preserving the Past, to Educate our Future.” I have chosen this theme for several reasons. First, I believe Boulder City has a lot to offer and we need to brand it. Using the Dam background from Damboree and the Tourist Commission gives us brand recognition. Wouldn’t it be great that whenever someone saw a picture of the Dam, they instantly thought of Boulder City? Second, by educating our children about the past history of Boulder City, we are encouraging our children to live and stay in Boulder City. They are the future generation of business in our city. Third, business’s thrive on new and repeat business. Branding Boulder City and making us recognizable brings in new business, that then becomes repeaters. Fourth, by encouraging new and repeat business, our business’s flourish while still keeping the small town quality of life we enjoy. It will bring economic growth and jobs. My goal for the year is to educate the local business’s , residents, and children about the importance of commerce for our city and to bring new business and tourists. To accomplish this goal we need to support the locals and help brand Boulder City. We need to put ourselves out in the public light and make people recognize we are more than a gas stop. We need to promote our history, uniqueness and our small town values. I hope all of you will join me in this endeavor by visiting local establishments, promoting the arts, supporting local non-profits and participating in all the special things our beautiful city has to offer. Visit an establishment you have never been in and get to know the owners, say hi to someone on the street you don’t know and help our community grow. Margin Tax- Are you Paying Attention
