Open to non-traditional students who are pursuing post-secondary education and are Branch County residents, the scholarship is intended to help recipients get a fresh start, make a career change, or advance in their field.  While need and career/educational goals play a part in the selection, community service remains an important criteria for the scholarship.

Curtis Funding Group

Is Curtis Funding Group still providing funding for business equipment?

Absolutely --  While Curtis Funding Group (CFG) has moved out of their Chamber-office location, after six years there, we are still operating, and in fact, had our most productive year in 2018.

With Curt MacRae’s personal move to a new residence, last May, we took the opportunity to move our office into a larger location within his home.  The new corporate address is 61 Oakwood Dr., still in Coldwater.  Our phone remains at 888/510-1355.

And, the office is open most work-day hours, and available for business or personal visitors.  We hope you’ll give us a call and stop by, for business or for a cup of coffee.

Because of our banner year, in 2018, we were able to expand our relationships with quality underwriters, giving us access to the most competitive rates and terms for our clients.

And, as CFG always does, we gave back to the community in 2018, in the form of multiple donations to local organizations that provide great services, a pledge to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and involvement in a couple other charitable causes.

So, what does our business do?  We provide the funds a business or municipality needs, to obtain the equipment they require, to operate their organization.  The revenue that your equipment generates, allows your organization to pay back those funds -- The equipment pays for itself.

Why CFG?
• No large down payment - we usually require just first and last payments.
• We don’t impact current lines of credit, which stay intact for short-term business needs
• CFG does not file all-assets liens; so, your equipment is not tied up later, when you want to re-sell it, or trade it on new equipment
• We offer flexible terms and no down payment
• And, if your credit is not strong, we may still be able to help; we have many sources
• CFG offers a micro-ticket program for as little as $5,000 of equipment cost, and a  larger-ticket program that provides nearly limitless equipment choices – Monthly terms range from 24 to 84 months, and we offer deferred payments, seasonal payments and master lines of credit of $5 million or more – we can finance new or used equipment, almost anything you can think of for a business -- with personal attention to every detail

We look forward to continuing to work with all of our Chamber partners, as well as other area companies, to help you fund the equipment you need for your business.

TrineOnline Offers Enhanced Path to Degrees for Students

Centreville — Trine University is enhancing and expanding its online degree programs with the launch of TrineOnline, a new approach designed to be convenient and cost-effective for students seeking to complete an associate’s, bachelor’s or master’s degree.

The launch comes a month after Trine was recognized by US News and World Report in its annual listing of Best Online Programs.

TrineOnline will be offered locally through the university’s education center in Centreville, located at 62249 Shimmel Rd.  A new TrineOnline division will eventually be headquartered in Fort Wayne, with additional staff to support online operations.

“TrineOnline offers a convenient, cost-effective way for students to complete their degree online, supported by our solid technology infrastructure in Fort Wayne and the academic excellence of Trine University,” said John Shannon, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs.  “This new innovation is a key component of Trine University’s ongoing investment in our Centreville education center and its surrounding community, as we continue to develop better methods of serving students throughout this region.”

Offering professionally focused associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees entirely online, TrineOnline is designed to fit the schedules of those who are in the workforce.  New classes begin every eight weeks, and degrees are able to be completed in as little as a year, or at a slower pace if preferred.

TrineOnline offers comprehensive academic support, with unlimited access to academic tutors, available online any time day or night, as well as personal attention from dedicated faculty.  Students enrolled in TrineOnline also gain access to Trine University’s Career Services, with continued support after graduation.  Trine University graduates have a more than 99 percent employment rate over the past several years.

“TrineOnline offers all the support of an established university with 135 years of history — the fastest-growing private university in Indiana — to help today’s student take the next step in their career path,” said Shannon.

TrineOnline continues Trine University’s generous transfer credit policies, which, combined with already affordable tuition rates and no hidden fees, allow online students to keep costs to a minimum.  For instance, a student transferring the maximum 90 credit hours can complete a bachelor’s degree for around $12,000.

In addition, some programs allow students to earn graduate credit while completing their undergraduate degree.

For more information and a list of degrees offered, visit trine.edu/online.
