From humble beginnings to Southern Michigan’s largest powersports dealership. What began as Halls Off-Road Equipment in 1977 began to grow into a powersports business by satisfying the needs of the local area for used snowmobiles in the winter. Their love of recreational vehicles quickly caught on with the local community. Their reputation as a great place to get pre-owned motorcycles and snowmobiles, and Planet Powersports’ success in satisfying the growing demand for snowmobiles in the winter time for Southern Michigan, led to the acquisition of Arctic Cat in 1998. One year later they also acquired Ski-Doo (along with Can-Am and Sea-Doo) in 1999. They built on their successes and by 2001 they had also added Polaris to their growing offerings. All this growth made it necessary to move into a facility that would allow Planet Powersports to service, maintain and retail all the merchandise to support the enthusiastic and growing customer base. In 2001 Planet Powersports moved into the familiar and expansive Farm & Fleet store when it moved to its new location down the road. It seemed the more choices, options, and products Planet Powersports was able to offer their customers the more the customers enjoyed shopping and coming back to Planet Powersports again and again. This pattern of success repeated itself into 2008 when they added Honda & Yamaha to the team, and yet again in 2010 & 2011 when Kawasaki and Suzuki joined their ranks of new vehicle offerings.
Today Planet Powersports’ facility covers 8 acres with a 40,000 Sq.Ft. showroom and boasts an off-road test track. They offer complete lines of ATVs, UTV side-by-sides, motorcycles, personal watercraft, snowmobiles, trailers, clothing, helmets, & accessories from Arctic Cat, Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki, Polaris, Ski-Doo, Star Motorcycles, & Yamaha.
