Dunn Outdoorsman Accessories and Custom Laser Works LLC is the brainchild of my, Joesph Dunn, hobby, starting in 2017.
It was while providing security at a gun show in Indiana that my friend and I saw the need for a niche service that wasn't being offered. We thought gun enthusiasts would love to have personalized cups, exhibiting their favorite brands.
We started out using vinyl stencils and sandblasting images into tumblers, followed by painting to make them more appealing. I then researched powder coating as a more durable finish, eventually investing in a laser engraver.
The first laser, which is still in use for tumbler customization, was a small format CO2 laser. The following show season proved successful for my part time business. We added concealment holsters and other firearm accessories, and once we started receiving calls for larger, we began using a larger machine.
After ordering our large CO2 laser last year, it was apparent that people loved to have their firearms engraved. In January, we ordered a fiber laser and got to work.
Covid-19 hit the country and my day-job at the City of Coldwater was temporarily closed
for roughly five weeks. During that time my wife, Jessie, and a team of several volunteers started sewing face masks and donating them where they were needed throughout the community and surrounding areas.
Over the course of the summer things have blossomed for the business. With the fall gun show season in full swing, we are custom designing vinyl decals, shirts, hats, and other apparel using beat transfer vinyl, including color sublimation. We offer 3d printing, I am fully licensed, having obtained a Federal Firearms License therefore we are an FFL proprietor, we custom powder coat small parts, tumblers, and firearms.
We can laser engrave on ceramic, firearms, tumblers, metal business cards, wood, acrylic, glass, leather, mirrors, marble and granite memorial plaques, polyester material, and more. We make custom cutouts in wood, acrylic, and fabric and can make custom trophies and signs.
