About Us
Here at First Christian Church, our purpose centers around the following: we are committed to expository preaching that presents a high view of God, to Christ-centered worship, and to true biblical ministry.
First Christian Church is committed to the historic, orthodox doctrines of the Christian faith—the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, the total inability of man to save himself, and the glorious grace and mercy of God found only in the gospel. We love Christ. We love the Word. We love the thought of a local church where all the members are actively using their gifts for the edification of the saints. We love the reality that God is sovereign over all things. We love the joy that comes from knowing that in Christ we are completely accepted by God and that we serve Him in the liberty that only the gospel can bring.
We believe, as the apostle Paul describes it, what is of first importance:
- That Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures
- That He was buried
- That He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Anticipating the need for future development, and realizing the shortage of land that is visible, accessible, and expansive, the congregation purchased a 45 acre tract adjacent to Sister City Park on Route 130. Plans are to construct a new building that will most effectively serve our needs. The new building will be all on ground level, making it easily accessible to all. No groundbreaking date has been set.
