Ameren Corporation is the parent company of Ameren Illinois, based in Peoria, Ill. and Ameren Missouri in St. Louis, Mo. The Ameren name was created by the December 1997 merger of CIPSCO Incorporated and Union Electric Company.
Ameren companies, including our 80% share of Electric Energy, Inc., generate a net capacity of 16,600 megawatts of electricity.
We serve 2.4 million electric customers and nearly one million natural gas customers.
Our generation includes one nuclear facility (in Callaway County, Mo.); three hydroelectric plants (Keokuk, Osage and Taum Sauk); and more than a dozen combustion turbine facilities.
