About Us

The Seneca Hospital Auxiliary is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to helping the hospital continue to provide high quality care, and to promoting the health and welfare of the community. The hospital's facilities are available to all...year-round residents, summer residents or occasional visitor.

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES
Annual Auxiliary activities include assisting and sponsoring the bi-annual blood drive held in conjunction with the United Blood Drive from Reno. The Auxiliary also coordinates the Community Health Fair, usually held in June, with Seneca Hospital personnel and Auxiliary volunteers. The Auxiliary hosts several fund raisers throughout the year, which provide scholarship monies for the graduating seniors who wish to pursue a career in the health care area or to hospital personnel who are currently seeking a nursing degree. Our "Pink Ladies" provide assistance at the hospital in both the acute care and skilled nursing facilities. This year, we have added that lobby desk to our volunteer activities. Each job volunteer does at the hospital, whether putting clean linen away, calling BINGO, taking a dog to visit in Long Term or push8ing a wheelchair during an outing, is an appreciated and rewarding experience.
In 2008-2009, Auxiliary members volunteered over 600 hours of their time.

FUNDING
Seneca Hospital Auxiliary's Annual Donation Drive raises funds that benefit the Seneca Hospital as well as the Lake Almanor Clinic. All monitory gifts are tax deductible and all proceeds go directly to Seneca Healthcare District. During the fiscal year 2007-2008, the Auxiliary donated over $25,000 worth of equipment and supplies to various hospital departments.

MEETINGS
Auxiliary meetings are held at the Lake Almanor Clinic Conference Room. From March through November, we meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 10:00 A.M. the public is welcome. If you wish to join the Auxiliary and volunteer, the fee is $15 per year and you must have a current TB test which the hospital provides for. We would love to have you.
