Welcome Chelssa Outland, Our Executive Director

The Chamber is excited to welcome Chelssa Outland to the position of Executive Director. Chelssa's background in event organization and project management, along with her wonderful skills in communication, make her a great fit for our needs. Add to that her experience as a business owner, and mother of twins growing up in our community, and the fit becomes perfect!

Asked why she accepted such a demanding position, she said,  "It gives me the opportunity to work with others to help better the community for my generation and the next."

Camp Fire Effects On Local Housing Market

Last year's Camp Fire devastated the lives of over 30,000 people.  And, as the dust settles, has begun to impact the lives of those in our community as well.  The Chamber of Commerce, the Chester Wellness Center, and area Property Managers have been receiving an increasing number of calls for rental housing.  These calls are not just from Camp Fire evacuees, but more and more they have been coming from those already living in our community.  Rental housing has always been a challenge here.  But now, as home owners

Camp Fire Connect, Lake Almanor

Our new neighbors! Strong, amazingly resilient and contributing their spirit to our community already. They struggle each day with their losses, of home, special possessions, routines and friends. Look for the black wristband. They wear it to tie themselves together through the experience they are living now and to let others know that though they may look just fine on the outside, on the inside there is a river of pain still flowing beneath. The picture of the group is the day they tied their bands together. There will be 3 more meetings of the group. April 28, May 12, and June 2.

Parade Theme and Grand Marshall

"Come Together with the Mountains" is the theme for the 2019 Chester Parade. The Lake Almanor Basin was formed by amazing geologic forces that resulted in two mountain ranges coming together.  And, maybe that is why the communities of the Lake Almanor Basin are known for being that special place where family and friends come together to celebrate special life events or milestones.  This year's parade theme celebrates all of you celebrating with us!  (If this theme, doesn't fit your mood or moment, then simply celebrate the old Red, White & Blue.)  Register For The Parade Here

Parade Grand Marshall. Nominations for the Parade Grand Marshall are now being accepted. Entries must be turned in by May 15th at B & B Booksellers, 278 Main Street. Download a nomination form here. The Grand Marshall will be announced at our Chamber's Wine & Dine on June 1st.
