Next year will be the 100th anniversary of the Chester Main Street 4th of July ParadeBrought to you by the Chester Progressive and the Chester-Lake Almanor Museum

Private-land burn permits suspended in Plumas, Lassen and Modoc counties, effective July 15, 2019.  Brought to you by Lee Anne Schramel the Public Affairs Officer with the United States Forest Service Plumas National Forest. 
 

COMING LABOR DAY WEEKEND!

 Labor Day Weekend’s special events will focus on “Discovering our Woodlands and Watershed”.  The weekend starts at 10 am on Friday, August 30, with a Sustainable Forestry Tour hosted Sierra Institute. The tour runs 10-4 with lunch, a tour of the museum, Collins Mill, and Collins Park 40. It is limited to 30 people for a fee of $60.  

At the end of the day, Friday, 5-7 pm, the Chamber, Sierra Institute and Collins Museum will be hosting a Town Talk titled, “Trees, Trout & Stout”.  The event is free to the public. Community organizations who work toward the health and sustainability of our forests and watershed will be present with booths and activities to educate and entertain.

Saturday there will be several activities to enjoy.  The Lake Almanor Art Show will run 10-4 at recreation area 1 in the Lake Almanor Country Club.  In addition, the Plumas Audubon Society will host three “Grebe Tours by Boat” with tour times and fees to be announced.  

That same day Sierra Institute will host “Wildfire on the Watershed”, a 3-hour tour with refreshments ending on the West Shore of Lake Almanor with a great view of the Fireworks Spectacular. Fees and times for this tour are coming soon with information to be posted on our Chamber website.

FIRST TOWN COFFEE SCHEDULED September 25

Brainstorming "A Town Plaza for Year Round Activities" was rated the #1 Town Coffee idea. We will roll out our first Coffee with this topic on Wednesday Morning, September 25th at 8 am. 


If you want to take part in brainstorming this idea, let us know by RESPONDING HERE. We will have the Coffee and Danish ready for you. Location will be sent prior to the meeting.

 

CHAMBER GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Annual Golf Tournament is our Chamber's premier fund raising event. 
As a Chamber we feel our most important function is in helping our members and community CONNECT with each other so that all who desire can TAKE PART in the forward movement of our entire community.
