This important role will be responsible for documenting and closing Virginia Housing\'s rental housing (multi-family) mortgage loans, loan servicing issues and general corporate legal work. Our ideal candidate is a results-oriented lawyer with expertise in multifaceted commercial transactions, managing legal risks, and in negotiating complex agreements and financial instruments. You will have a strong interest in leading change to meet organizational goals and the ability to apply legal concepts to meet business objectives and develop practical solutions. Success in this role requires dedication to the mission of Virginia Housing.


Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess:
• J. D. degree from a law school accredited by the American Association of Law Schools and an active membership in good standing with the Virginia State Bar.
• At least two years of experience working as in-house counsel or attorney with demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgment, work with senior management and implement policies and processes.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Experience in developing, directing and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
• Able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as Adobe products.
• Able to perform internet-based research.

Preferred experience includes prior in-house or law firm experience in drafting multi-family loan closing documents and conducting multi-family loan closings. Experience in commercial real estate transactions.

Hiring Range: $103,705 - $134,813
Hybrid work model
This position reports to our Innsbrook location in Glen Allen, Virginia.
