Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Day Shift)

Pay Rate: $17 Hourly (Minimum Starting Rate) + Performance Incentives

What You\'ll Be Doing:

Providing exceptional service to Associates and customers by pulling orders and transfers, helping to replenish inventory, or receiving product in the warehouse (Central Distribution Center - CDC)
Working cooperatively with other team members while assisting with warehouse orders, loading trucks for drivers, organizing and maintaining the yard area, and assisting customers with their purchases
Following ethical standards and complying with company policies that ensure a safe, friendly, and team-oriented family culture
May include driving responsibilities, current driver\'s license required
Required Skills:

Computer literacy. Ability to learn and use the processes in our Epicor Solar Eclipse system, VAMAC\'s intranet, or other systems as applicable
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms (i.e. in-person, phone, email, etc.)
Ability to work independently as well as within a team; ability to multitask
Ability to stand and walk for long duration, as well as lift up to 100 pounds
Preferred Skills:

Previous experience using an RF Gun
Current forklift certification, where required

Qualifications:
Associates are expected to report to work on time as scheduled prepared for the workday.

Unload trucks, receive, count, sort, and put away incoming material from internal and external sources. Examine material to verify product is undamaged.

Accurately input receiving counts into the computer system using the RF Gun. Verify receipt of items and order numbers with Transfer slips, Purchase orders and manufactures' packing slips. Follow up with necessary entries or adjustments in the computer. Notify your supervisor of any problems.

Store/Stock material in bins, on racks, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material in compliance with the locator system.

Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles to include the use of barcode technology. Update locations maintain 100% accurately located inventory.

Fill/Pull orders from stock completely and accurately, palletize material, re-box material, loading trucks, notifying the supervisor of any missing items.

Communicate to immediate supervisor on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock condition or damage to stock, location changes, and other pertinent information concerning movement or security of goods.

Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required. Perform forklift and vehicle safety checks. Document and report discrepancies to supervisor. Maintain required certifications.

Substitute as needed for drivers, where applicable

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required. Update job knowledge by learning products and their applications.

Attend educational and safety meetings as required by management.

Maintain forklift and/or order picker certification(s) to safely operate equipment as needed.

Follow company policies and procedures.

Satisfactory performance in any job-related duty as assigned by Supervisor or the President of the company.

NEW REPEAT CUSTOMER BUSINESS (NRCB)
It is an expectation for associates to utilize all resources (contacts, friends, family) to search out new repeat customer business. Associates are to use the tools available through VAMAC such as printed flyers and business cards to promote VAMAC and solicit new business. Associates are to have the ability to speak about Web Order Entry and any current promotion to current and new customers in an effort to secure NRCB.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other associates of the organization in one-on-one and small group situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic computer knowledge to include basic keyboarding and the ability to learn and apply new program applications.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Reliable transportation to and from work is required for this position. Proper training and authorization to operate Company equipment. Permission from the branch manager is required to operate a Company vehicle, a current, valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (see Motor Vehicle Policy for details) is required to be eligible.
