Job Summary: The Warehouse Sanitation Associate Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the sanitation operations in a warehouse facility. They lead a team of sanitation associates, ensuring that all areas are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained according to established standards and protocols. The Team Lead plays a crucial role in promoting cleanliness, safety, and hygiene within the warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of sanitation associates, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations. Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and individual growth.
Sanitation Operations: Oversee the cleaning and sanitization of all areas in the warehouse, including floors, equipment, restrooms, break areas, and common spaces. Ensure compliance with sanitation protocols, including the use of appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control standards to ensure cleanliness and hygiene throughout the facility. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any sanitation issues or deficiencies.
Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to sanitation. Promote safe work practices, provide training on proper handling of cleaning chemicals, and promptly address any safety concerns or incidents.
Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Coordinate with procurement or relevant departments to ensure adequate stock levels and timely replenishment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspections, and any incidents or deviations. Prepare reports on sanitation performance and key metrics as required.
Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide on-the-job coaching to enhance the skills and knowledge of sanitation associates. Conduct training sessions on proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and safety protocols.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in sanitation operations. Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability. Encourage innovation and employee involvement in improvement efforts.
Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with warehouse management, other department leads, and sanitation associates. Collaborate to resolve issues, share best practices, and ensure smooth coordination across teams.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards related to sanitation, safety, and overall warehouse operations.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in sanitation, hygiene, or related fields are a plus.
Previous experience in a sanitation or cleaning role, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
Knowledge of sanitation principles, cleaning techniques, and proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in sanitation and hygiene.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and tools.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays if required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sweeps and cleans entire warehouse to maintain required level of cleanliness.
Empties trash bins and cleans trash area daily; operates trash compactor when applicable.
Pulls pallets and cleans/scrubs product bays on a rotating basis.
Cleans up any spills or breakages to inventoried product; recoups damages and determines if resalable or must be disposed of per government and U.S. Foodservice food safety requirements.
Performs light maintenance duties as assigned (i.e. replacement of light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, paper and shrink wrap collection pickup, checking freezer and cooler for leaks or ice build up, etc.)
Prepares various reports and forms to document cleaning schedule, spillages, product damage, etc. May track and order maintenance supplies.
May clean other areas of the warehouse and offices, to include break rooms, rest rooms, test kitchens, offices, etc.
Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas.
Operates scrubber, pallet jack and high lift if required to perform duties.
