About Sacramento Valley Museum
Sacramento Valley Museum
The Sacramento Valley Museum, located in Williams, California, is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and promoting the historical development of the Sacramento Valley from prehistoric times to the present. Our exhibits showcase a diverse collection of artifacts, textiles, and documents from the mid-19th to mid-20th century, all housed in a historic 100-year-old building that once served as Williams Union High School. This transformation into a museum was made possible by the dedication of local volunteers, who revived the building after it sat dormant for several years, officially opening to the public in 1964.
Today, the Sacramento Valley Museum continues to be a hub for historical preservation and education, offering multiple rooms of exhibits that reflect the rich multicultural history of the region. Our 16,000-square-foot facility is not only a repository of the past but also a center for ongoing research and community engagement. The museum’s success is a testament to the unwavering support of our board members, volunteers, and staff, who are committed to making history accessible and engaging for all visitors. We invite everyone to explore and connect with the fascinating history of the Sacramento Valley at our museum.
