Since the 1950s, the Maltby family has been dedicated to the science and art of cattle breeding. Our journey took a significant turn in 1962 when we started incorporating Charolais genetics into our Hereford cows, resulting in substantial gains in weaning and yearling weights. Today, Broken Box Ranch is renowned for our premier Charolais Bulls and Females, available both at various sales and directly from our ranch through private treaty. Our cattle consistently meet our rigorous standards for performance, marketability, and superior beef production.
In addition to our breeding program, Broken Box Ranch offers a range of services to support the livestock community. Our custom-feeding service utilizes locally sourced conventional feed and a diverse array of byproducts to minimize costs while maximizing nutritional value for both young and mature animals. We also provide breeding services to help enhance the genetic quality of your herd. Beyond our livestock operations, we are proud certified organic rice growers, with rice straws available for sale each fall.
