About Friends of Colusa County Free Library
Friends Of Colusa County Free Library
The Friends of the Colusa County Free Library are dedicated to enhancing the library's resources, services, and facilities through financial support and community engagement. Since their establishment in 1979, the Friends have successfully raised over $150,000, significantly contributing to the library’s ability to provide enriched services and programs. This funding has enabled the acquisition of essential equipment, sponsorship of diverse cultural and educational programs, and continuous improvement of library resources.
As ambassadors for the library, the Friends play a crucial role in fostering community interest and involvement. Their current initiatives include organizing author evenings, microfilming local newspapers, adding to the library’s monthly collections, and funding subscriptions to valuable research tools such as Ancestry.com and the EBSCO research database. Additionally, the Friends support popular programs and events like the Summer Reading Programs, Hoopla Audiobooks, and Día de los niños. They firmly believe that the library is one of the community's most vital assets, serving individuals from all walks of life and promoting lifelong learning and enrichment.
