About Us
Benton Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization, founded in 1991, dedicated to eliminating substandard housing worldwide and creating hope through homeownership in Benton County, Oregon. To date, we have built 22 homes and refurbished 3 homes in Benton County and supported the building of more than 30 homes in developing countries. We have started building two more houses in early 2009 and have plans for an 18 home development in North Corvallis which will include 12 affordable homes. We believe in a hand-up for our partner families and the power of volunteers who make dreams happen with our partner families.
We operate the Benton Habitat for Humanity ReStore, a used building supplies store, on 9th Street. Most items are donated by local residents and businesses and sold at affordable prices to the public. All proceeds support our home building mission in Benton County.
We'll Impress You
Benton Habitat for Humanity builds affordable homes for and with local families. Up front funding is generated from our ReStore, grants, donations, in-kind contributions from businesses and individuals and mortgage payments. After the completion of the house the family pays back the cost of the house and their payments are used to pay for future houses.
