We believe in the power of history to inspire, educate, and connect communities. Located in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, we are a proud 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the exceptional work of Old World Wisconsin, a beloved state historic site operated by the Wisconsin Historical Society. Since 1984, through the generous contributions of our Friends of Old World, we’ve provided over $9 million in funding to enhance visitor experiences and help preserve the stories and structures of Wisconsin’s past.

Our mission is simple: to ensure that Old World Wisconsin continues to thrive as a place where history comes alive for future generations. From funding the heritage breed animal program and heirloom gardens to preserving historic buildings and supporting educational programs, every dollar raised goes directly toward projects that enrich and elevate this cultural treasure.
