CHILDREN UNITING NATIONS PRESENT "DAY OF THE CHILD"

Crenshaw Chamber Member, Children Uniting Nations is looking for mentors!

This event is designed to bring awareness and support the needs of the children who, by no fault of their own, are living in and out of home care. The Day of the Child is the community's way of letting foster children know that someone cares by providing mentors for the day. Mentored children are more likely to find ways of surviving within the community without turning to crime, drugs, or gangs.

We are definitely looking to locate as many volunteer mentors as possible for this fun-filled event, so please feel free to forward this e-mail to anyone whom you believe would be interested in participating. The Day of the Child will be taking place this year on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Barker Hangar located in the Santa Monica Airport. Please note the attached flyer.

We are as always looking for caring individuals to become one-day mentors to work with these amazing children: Mentors: Volunteer mentors will be matched up with a child for the event date. Volunteer mentors will be their buddy and enjoy the games, rides, food, etc...with the child.

To register for this event please visit our online registration site at www.regonline.com/cundoc and complete the registration form provided. Now while some may have already completed the online registration years before we kindly ask you complete it once again this year as it is standard policy to complete a new registration each year. The registration deadline has been pushed to Friday, NOVEMBER 13. Thank you for your on-going support in our annual Day of the Child event and we look forward to seeing you there.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with the production of the event itself.
