THE NEXT "BIG DEAL" FOR HEREFORD
Just around the corner is the upcoming Spicer Gripp Memorial Roping which will kick off their 20th Anniversary Edition beginning on Wednesday, July 30th with the Kick Off Reception and Dinner. A full five days of activity is scheduled with numerous events on each day. The members and volunteers of the Spicer Gripp Memorial are continuing a legacy that started in 1994. Just to keep an event going for 20 years is a milestone in itself. They not only keep it going, they keep it growing. Making it's mark as one of the top spots for ropers and fans alike, Spicer Gripp Memorial has provided a wonderful opportunity for children through scholarships, donations, and improvements made at WTAMU. Their mission is "Inspiring area youth through scholarships, encouraging agriculture and academic excellence as well as supporting cultural and industrial events within the Spicer Gripp Youth Foundation Area. The Chamber salutes the Spicer Gripp Foundation committee and all the hard working  volunteers who produce such a fine quality event for Hereford. Don't forget to get signed up for the City Wide Garage Sale being held on Saturday, July 12th from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm. Entry fee is $ 10.00 and you do not have to have a City permit if you are particpating in this event. Sign up forms are available at the Chamber office and the DEADLINE for those to be turned in is Monday, July 7th. You may enter after the deadline date but your entry will not be in the newspaper if you miss the deadline. Please read instructions carefully when you submit your entry form. This year we will be giving away Hereford Bucks for the sale. Everyone who signs up to host a garage sale will have their name placed in a drawing and 3 lucky people will win $ 50 each in Hereford Bucks. We hope this provided incentive for folks to go ahead and get entered. We invite individuals as well as businesses to sign up and participate.

In Hereford, we seem to go from one great event to another. One of the finest productions for one of the best agencies is coming up on July 19th beginning at 6:30 PM at the HISD Administration Building. Kings Manor invites you to attend their annual FOUNDER'S BARBECUE.
The proceeds will be divided between fire restoration and benevolant care. This year the feature entertainment is A Tribute To THE BEACH BOYS!! Wow! right down my alley. You have the opportunity to buy a ticket and attend or buy a sponsorship and to have a great time. Shelly Moss and her staff work very hard to produce this quality event for Kings Manor. Let's all get out and help them maintain the wonderful care they provide for our Seniors.
