Customer Code of Conduct & COVID-19 Operation Plan for Phase 2 Businesses

We have "Customer Code of Conduct" posters provided by the Plumas County Public Health Agency, as well as a template for COVID Operation Plan for Businesses free for pick up at the Chamber and Visitor Center. If you don't already have your plan in place, please drop in and pick these forms up. The flyer reminds our guest to take responsibility for keeping our businesses and community safe and healthy. Post one or more of these in your windows and other areas of your business.

Shop Local

Let's please remember to Shop Local, especially during this restrictive time. Our community relies heavily on tourism to keep local doors open. Until and unless our community is fully open to visitors, our local businesses rely on the rest of us to help them stay open. Shop local, discover new treasure, treat yourself to take-out (or dine in) and help your community stay strong!

Congratulations PHS Seniors

Send Your Heroes: Lost Sierra Locals

By Donna Mills

Say “Thank You” to a local hero who’s served on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19 by telling their story for the 'Send Your Heroes' campaign, sponsored by the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce, Nakoma Resort and other businesses.

"Heroes" selected through nominations from Plumas and Sierra counties will receive "Playcation" rewards from area businesses to recognize their service. Nominations for local Heroes are now being taken, with recognition and rewards announced the week of June 1. We apologize for not getting this out sooner, but you still have time to recognize someone local!

For more information on how to nominate your hero, go to https://nakomaresort.com/send-your-heroes/

Stay updated with the latest information by joining https://www.facebook.com/groups/sendyourheroes/

Help us recognize the special people and the work they do for our community in the medical, food and other local industries and call Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce at 836-6811, to donate prizes or gift certificates toward this campaign. We hope to nominate up to 15 local "Heroes" this year! Thank you in advance for you participation.

Phase 2 Restaurant Updates

By Donna Mills

First of all, those of us at the Lost Sierra Chamber would like to apologize for emailing our membership an incomplete list of restaurants and their current status last week, which was also published online through Plumas News. This was in no way Plumas News' fault. We have been running the office operations with a skeleton crew (all two of us) and when a volunteer offers to help us, we jump on them...well not actually...but we never turn away a volunteer! That said, our restaurant list went out last week omitting several of our local establishments. Ugh. Monday morning came and I started feeling like I was in the Snow White fairy tale where someone forgot to invite one of the fairies. So, to all our members especially, we do HUMBLY apologize! Below are a few updates we now KNOW we forgot to mention. Also, it is necessary to CALL ahead (or go online) and book dinner reservations. Please pass this information along and help us help our neighbors.

Chamber of Commerce: A Member's Network

By Donna Mills

It is a privilege to serve as the president on the Lost Sierra Chamber of Commerce. I have been a member of the board since 2014. I retire as president in February 2021. I will continue to serve the Chamber and volunteer. WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! I know we all have businesses and lives, but it really does take a village to be a community. Consider helping at Chamber-sponsored events or spending a day a week or month in the Visitor Center greeting visitors. We would love to have you on our "team."
