About Us
Carlin Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) is made up of community members who have chosen to serve others in their community by becoming a member of the Fire Department. We are allowed 35 members to serve our community and to assist in those communities surrounding us. We not only provide fire service but also provide ambulance transport services at the EMT Intermediate level. We are classed as an “All Risk” department which means we cover multiple emergency services. We are the primary responders to a 400 square mile area that includes one major interstate, two heavily traveled state routes and two major rail lines running east and west bound. This region also includes three of the world’s largest mines, surface and underground, as well as rural farm and ranching.
Services provided by CVFD include: Structural Fire Protection, Wildland Fire Protection, Vehicle Fire Protection, Industrial Fire Protection, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Materials Response, Industrial Fire Protection, Vehicle Extrication, Rope, High Angle, Confined Space and Trench Rescue.
Our members are trained to various levels to include training to manage any of the emergency situations which we are faced with it at any given moment. Members volunteer their time for both training and response to incidents, each giving of their own free time to help serve the community.
Carlin VFD is hosting its 1st annual Wine Walk August 19, 2011 from 4pm to 7pm in conjunction with Carlin's Sho 'N Shine. Shuttles will run cost is $20.00 per person.
