Hours of Operation

The balloon club meets the first Monday of every month at 6:30 p.m. for a dinner meeting.

The balloons fly at sunrise on any given day.

About Us

Ruby Mountain Hot Air, Inc. is a non-profit club made up of people interested in the sport of hot air ballooning. They meet the first Monday of every month and get together to fly balloons in the Spring Creek and Elko areas whenever the weather allows.

These balloonists are responsible for organizing and presenting the Ruby Mountain Balloon Festival in September every year. During the festival, several pilots take their balloons to visit various schools in the area. The students are encouraged to get up close and personal with a balloon (sometimes even walk inside), learning all about what makes them fly, where they fly, what they're made of, as well as the history of the sport.

Individual pilots also provide balloon rides to help local charities raise money for their causes, or act as eye catchers to advertise or draw attention to specific events.

We, as balloonists, work to educate and share the sport of hot air ballooning with everyone who is interested in joining us at sunrise on any given morning. We also organize and present one of the most colorful festivals that takes place every year in the state of Nevada.

Mission Statement

Our mission as a non-profit corporation is to promote the sport of hot air ballooning through balloon rides, visiting schools and teaching students the science of what makes a balloon fly, as well as using the balloons as charitable fundraisers.
